Dear fellow partners who love Zambia in our Lord,

“Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.” (Psalm 40:5)

Reading this verse, I felt it perfectly describes our situation and the ministry in Zambia, and I resonate with it 100%. I would like to share what the Lord has done here. Thank you all for praying with us.

1. Zera International College of Health Sciences

1) Bus and Trailer Purchase: In mid-August, we received special donations for a school vehicle from the US and South Korea, which allowed us to purchase a 2001 Mitsubishi Rosa 29-seater bus. Since the funds were sufficient, we were also able to buy a small trailer to attach to the back for cargo. Previously, when students went to distant national hospitals for 3 to 6-month clinical practices, we had to rent a trailer because they had so much personal luggage. We thank the Lord for enabling us to purchase not only the bus but also the trailer. Deepest thanks to those who sent these precious offerings and to everyone who prayed with us for this purchase

2) Dormitory Status: Currently, 52 students are staying in the first female dormitory building, while the second building is waiting for more students. In the male dormitory building, 7 students are residing. Among those from distant areas, 4 students who cannot afford the dormitory fees (K600/$31, about 42,000 KRW per month) are staying for free in exchange for helping with cleaning. Since the main kitchen and dining hall are not yet fully completed, everyone is enduring a bit of inconvenience for now.

3) Lecture Hall Construction: The construction of the new lecture hall building is well underway. We pray that the Lord takes care of the laborers who are working hard and fills the financial needs so that the construction can be successfully completed. We are doing our best to have it ready for use starting from the new semester in 2027.

4) Park Sang-eun Scholarship: Under the Park Sang-eun Scholarship Project, which was established to honor the late Director Park Sang-eun of the Africa Future Foundation, 4 students and 2 staff members from Zera have received benefits. We hope that the scholarship recipients will dedicate themselves even more to their studies and grow into precious workers for this land and God's kingdom, following the vision of Director Park, who deeply loved Africa. We express our deepest gratitude to the Scholarship Committee of the Africa Future Foundation for granting this wonderful opportunity to these six individuals.

2. Chisomo Hospital

1) Anesthesia Machine: We are praying for the purchase of a new anesthesia machine to properly operate our surgical theater.

2) Local Donations: A large nearby seed company donated 10 sets of bedding for our inpatient wards as part of their community service outreach. They also brought 1,500 pairs of secondhand socks, which we distributed to infants on immunization day, sent to the street children's center, and shared with Zera students. After spending so much time always giving, it was a profound joy to experience the happiness of receiving. We are truly grateful.

3. Kazemba Clinic and Preschool

This semester, Pheby Banda, a graduate of Kazemba Preschool, entered the Nursing Department at Zera College, bringing great joy to everyone. Our first student, Linnet, is currently waiting for employment after passing the National Nursing Board Exam, and our second student, John, is studying hard. We continue to guide these young children so they can grow while planting dreams within the Word of God.

4. Zera International Bible Church

On Sunday, August 30, we held our third baptismal service. One female student living in the Zera dormitory and two staff members from Zera College were baptized. We pray that those who confessed Jesus as their Savior and received baptism will put off their old ways and live under God, making an appeal of a good conscience toward Him in the Lord.

5. Other Updates

1) Pastor Aaron's Visit to Korea: Pastor Aaron from the Chisomo Street Children's Center is currently visiting South Korea at the invitation of the Korean Bible Society. We pray that his itinerary from September 4 to September 14 will be well-guided under the Lord's leadership, and that he will return safely with many challenges and fruitful experiences.

2) General Elections: On August 13, Zambia held its presidential, parliamentary, and local council elections. Although there have been various disputes and opposition leaders are currently detained, the atmosphere remains calm on the surface. May the leaders and people of Zambia become a nation that fears God!

3) Bible Donation: On July 30, the Scripture Union Zambia donated 32 Bibles to us. We had previously sent a small donation to them during a youth retreat, and they expressed their gratitude. It is truly wonderful to look out for one another and encourage love in this way.

4) Missionaries' Retreat: From September 3 to September 5, I attended the 'Zambia Korean Missionaries' Retreat' held for three days. With the Holy Spirit as our main speaker, the fellowship with fellow missionaries whom I hadn't seen in a long time was delightful. When sharing our respective mission ministries, it was a graceful time of comforting and encouraging one another with sincere hearts.

To the Eagle River Church in Alaska, which has sponsored our nutrition program for HIV-positive nursing mothers through its 13th term (with each term lasting over 6 months), and to the many partners who coworker in the Zambian ministry in various ways without seeking recognition—thank you for standing with us for so long! Please continue to pray with us in the days ahead.

Wishing that our Lord's goodness and mercy overflow in your lives forever. Goodbye for now.
