Stump Mission Inc. in New York, USA
OUR STORY
In 2007, in response to a request from our missionary in Botswana who was preparing to establish a children's library, we gathered English-language children's books and shipping funds through Korean-American churches and supporters in New York and New Jersey. In 2008, we successfully shipped a container of books to Botswana.
That same year, at the request of our missionary in Zambia, we connected with supporters to help cover part of the cost of shipping a container of medical supplies and drilling a well.
In 2010, when Stump Zambia opened Chisomo Hospital, the missionaries asked us to take full responsibility for coordinating supporters and sharing ministry updates throughout the United States. This marked a turning point in the renewed development of our prayer and support ministry from New York.
Since then, we have sent containers of medical supplies and other essential goods to Zambia and Zanzibar on several occasions. We also responded to a request from Stump Philippines for scholarship support for Kopino children, helping connect them with sponsors. As missionaries from various regions visited New York, relationships that had been interrupted were restored, and new opportunities for fellowship and cooperation emerged. Through these connections, the Lord continued to expand our ministry of prayer and support.
Missionary Hong Jong-im, who currently serves with Stump Mission Inc. in New York, completed Stump discipleship training and committed her life to ministry in 1993. She initially served at the Korean headquarters. Following its closure in 2004, she was sent to Botswana, where she served from 2004 to 2005.
During her time on the mission field, she became deeply aware of the urgent need for prayer and support for missionaries and their ministries. This experience strengthened her sense of calling to serve them through intercession and practical support. In August 2005, she came to the United States at the invitation of Stump Overseas Mission.
The Lord, who knows the spiritual and practical needs of every mission field, graciously opened the way for her to serve the missionaries who had remained faithful to their calling after the Stump support structure came to an end. By His grace, she has continued this ministry of prayer and support to this day.
The Lord, who knows every spiritual and physical need of the mission fields, opened the way for an unworthy servant to begin an intercessory and support ministry for the remaining overseas missionaries from Stump backgrounds, guiding her steps to this very day.
OUR MINISTRY AND VISION
We are committed to praying for missionaries who continue to serve faithfully in their mission fields and supporting the ministries entrusted to them. We seek to serve as a channel of God's grace, connecting mission fields with churches and believers in the United States. Together with these missionaries, we strive to prepare the way for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
PLEASE PRAY WITH US
-
Pray that prayer and support for Stump missionaries will continue and that new partnerships will grow.
-
Pray that all Stump missionaries will remain faithful and obedient to the calling entrusted to them by the Lord until the end.
-
Pray that the Gospel will bear abundant fruit in every mission field, bringing glory to the Lord alone.
-
Pray that the next generation of ministry workers will be equipped and raised up in every field.
"But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us." — 2 Corinthians 4:7
May the treasure we carry in these jars of clay be revealed through our lives and ministries, bringing glory to the name of Jesus Christ alone.
